Skid Steer TracksIf you will be working on soft ground or in weather such as rain and snow you will want to use skid steer tracks on your skid steer loaders. With the addition of skidsteer tracks and other attachments such as a shovel you can move snow or rain soaked dirt and mud without getting stuck. For example, the skid steer tracks on a Caterpillar Multi Terrain Loader transfers machine weight to the ground through 48 wheeled contact points. The advantages to the use of skidsteer tracks are as follows: Increased traction (especially in mud or snow and other slippery conditions) Low ground pressure and high flotation Track tread design prevents damage to the surface you are working on Reduced soil compaction When you are driving a multi terrain loader both skid steer tracks will begin to turn when you push forward on the left-hand joystick. If you keep the joystick pushed forward and move it to the left, your machine will turn left. It accomplishes this by stopping or slowing down the left side skidsteer tracks. The use of skid steer tracks will add about 30 to 40 days to a contractors work year because they can work in rain and snow conditions that would normally shut him down. Skidsteer tracks will also reduce the possibility of your machine turning over or flipping forward or backward when working on a hill, a great advantage.
